Dr. LaShanda Lewis is the Executive Director of Crisis, Mental Health, and Elementary Counseling for Austin ISD and Director of Advocacy for the Lone Star State School Counselor Association. With over 17 years in education, she has led initiatives to expand mental health supports, establish campus-based wellness centers, and strengthen crisis response systems. Previously, she directed Counseling and Student Services in Round Rock ISD, supporting more than 150 counselors and 46,000 students. A recognized leader in suicide prevention and counseling, Dr. Lewis serves on state and local committees, speaks nationally, and advocates for safe, supportive learning environments.

Dr. Amy Grosso,

Dr. Amy Grosso holds a Ph.D. in Counseling and Counselor Education from UNC Greensboro and has over 15 years of experience dedicated to student well-being. At Round Rock ISD, she founded the Behavioral Health Services Department, led a team of social workers, pioneered the district’s threat assessment process, and updated suicide prevention protocols for 46,000 students. Nationally, she serves on the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s National Chapter Leadership Council. Recognized for her expertise in mental health and crisis response, Dr. Grosso continues to champion safe, supportive environments for students and families.
