About the Speakers

Dr. Amy Grosso, PhD,
Director, Expert in Residence at Raptor Technologies, Chapter Leadership Council for American Foundation for Suicide Prevention

Dr. Amy Grosso is the Director, Expert in Residence at Raptor Technologies. She completed her Ph.D. in Counseling and Counselor Education at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Dr. Amy started her career as a mental health counselor with Wake Forest Baptist Health. In 2020, she created the Behavioral Health Services Department at Round Rock ISD including the hiring and oversight of a team of social workers. In the position she also implemented district threat assessments and managed the suicide protocols. Dr. Amy serves on the National Chapter Leadership Council of American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and co-authored the book Schoolwide Collaboration for Transformative Social Emotional Learning.

Shannon Jenkins,
Coordinator of Mental Health, Thompson School District, Loveland, CO

Shannon Jenkins is the Coordinator of Mental Health at Thompson School District in Loveland, Colorado. Previously she worked at Keller ISD in Keller, TX, where she served as the Coordinator of Elementary Counseling for five years and an elementary school counselor for twenty years. She is a fierce advocate for school counseling and mental health support for students. In her current position she assists with crisis intervention and working with community resources. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Family Studies at Louisiana Tech University and a Master of Education (M.Ed.) focused in School Counseling from Dallas Baptist University.
