About this Webinar

Summer camps create memorable experiences for children, but they also introduce unique child safety and abuse prevention challenges. According to the 2026 Praesidium report, 80% of incidents occur in bathrooms, locker rooms, indoor program spaces, or recreation areas.

Join YMCA summer program leaders for a practical discussion on how camps can strengthen supervision, staff training, reporting culture, and abuse prevention practices while creating safe, welcoming environments for campers and families. Learn how organizations prepare for camp season, manage higher-risk spaces, reinforce healthy boundaries, and prevent both adult-to-youth and youth-to-youth incidents.

Key Takeaways

  • Explore ways to strengthen supervision, accountability, and access control in high-risk areas and during high-volume summer programming.
  • Discover best practices for training seasonal staff and volunteers on boundaries, reporting expectations, and abuse prevention.
  • Hear how to prevent youth-to-youth incidents while building a strong culture of safety and accountability.
