About the Presenters

Melissa Kree, School Psychologist, Oxford Community Schools (MI)

Melissa has been a School Psychologist with Oxford Community Schools for 13 years, serving students from PreK through high school. She coordinates MTSS teams, special education evaluations, and serves as a district IEP Coach. Melissa is part of the district crisis team and building-level threat and suicide risk assessment teams, using both BTAM and PREPaRE models. She has played an ongoing role in Oxford’s response to the November 30, 2021 tragedy, working closely with district leadership to review and implement safety policies and procedures. She has advocated at the state level for legislative changes to support school safety. Melissa also serves on the district mental health committee, participates in county PREPaRE practice groups, and is a member of the Mental Health subcommittee for the Michigan Association of School Psychologists.

Eric Vetere, Director of Safety & Security, Corona-Norco USD (CA)

Eric is a 26-year public safety veteran in Southern California with both the San Bernardino City USD, where he served as the District’s Safety & Emergency Manager, and Police Detective for the District, and now, as the Director of Safety & Security for the Corona-Norco USD. Eric is also the Commander of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s West Valley Search and Rescue team. Eric has held key incident management roles during major crises while in San Bernardino, including the December 2nd terrorist attack as well as the North Park school shooting, a 2019 ransomware attack, and as Incident Commander for the District’s 18-month COVID-19 IMT.

Dr. Amy Grosso, Expert in Residence, Raptor Technologies

Amy Grosso holds a Ph.D. in Counseling and Counselor Education from UNC Greensboro and has over 15 years of experience dedicated to student well-being. At Round Rock ISD, she founded the Behavioral Health Services Department, led a team of social workers, pioneered the district’s threat assessment process, and updated suicide prevention protocols for 46,000 students. Nationally, she serves on the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s National Chapter Leadership Council. Recognized for her expertise in mental health and crisis response, Dr. Grosso continues to champion safe, supportive environments for students and families.
